    I dunno. Thinking about posting some semi clandestine information on NIS from my notebook in case I lose it somehow. Not sure how long it'd be before Lanny deletes whatever thread I post it in.
    
    Hmmmmmm. It'll be a lot of typing. Ive been thinking more about distillation of formic acid from oxalic acid and reusable glycerol lately. And then mixing the formic with calcium nitrate from soil or nitre bed to create nitric acid. The nitric is dilute, and if you try to further concentrate it, the nitric will just destroy any more formic acid that you add. So once it reaches a certain % it has to be set aside and another batch can be made in the same way. The diluted batches can then be added together and the nitric distilled off and then distilled to purity with simple distillation rather than fractional because there's no azeotrope.
    
    
    Potentially a nice route to nitric that uses no sulfuric, only common acids that can be found in weeds growing wherever, and requires no high voltage. If urea nitrate is the goal, the nitric acid doesn't even need to be concentrated. So you can save the more pure nitric for RDX etc.

    just got done moving most of my trucks into winter parking spots and almost finished bottom plating and top plating the walls on my garage,, 12" of snow forecast for tomorrow and i still have to get the 4x4 dodge started and moved so the 2 wheel drive can park in that spot all winter then i gotta set 18 trusses and perlins tomorrow so i can roof the garage this weekend
