Americans do seem to be afraid of it. Whenever I'm coming out of Aldi and it's raining I just walk to my car as if it's just another day back home in Manchester...meanwhile the Americans all gather at the entrance afraid to step out and get the water on them shaking their heads and saying to each other "oooh it's terrible isn't it" or "look at that idiot walking to his car as if it's nothing!" -

thats because "american" air is polluted and full of toxic industrial chemicals. the first wave of rain usually have the highest concentration of dissolved toxic chemicals. -

Right, tens of thousands of people and animals die every year in the US from brief afternoon showers... -

I think it’s funny how often European’s forget that we’re a massive country with a huge variance in climates and environments from state to state.
I have lived on the coast and have witnessed people driving home from work through 3’ high puddles in the road. I have also seen the opposite where in the desert a little rain falls and all of the oil and shit on the road that’s been dry for months gets loosened up and it turns into a big game of bumper cars.
You Europoors and your mild weather -

Um I've lived in the US for 27yrs, traveled the world extensively...been through multiple tropic storms and hurricanes, seen a tornado or two, drove through deep water, been stranded overnight in snow...etc
...but ONLY in America have I seen crybabies blocking the store entrance because of a little rain...or been asked "You don't have an umbrella? you'll get wet if you go out there!"...
