israeli air force and Hez exchanging fire - israelis are bombing what they claim to be launch sites and attempting to target commanders with airstrikes, Hez is attacking the supply chain for anti-air/missile systems which implies they're trying to make it more difficult for israel to stop the next tier of missiles they plan on using. -

US international policy is unique in that it fluctuates between liberal and realist policy (or between liberal policy and realist policy disguised by liberalism, see Vietnam and Korea.) in conjunction with changes in the popularity of isolationism. Also it is unique in that foreign policy direction and intent doesn't change much when the "ruling" party changes.
Isolationism has become far more popular in the last 20 years as US failures to "democratize" nations in the middle east where made known to the public. IE withdrawal from Afghanistan, and the brakes being put on US interventionism. Most we get now is drone strikes in the Middle East and financial and material aid being given to Israel and Ukraine. Nothing like 91-2016 where the US went happy-go-lucky with spreading democracy to the middle east.
As it seems now direct US intervention looks like it would be very unpopular, the first and last thing many US citizens would think about it is "OMGWTFBBQ?!? More US troops in the middle east? No thanks!"
However I have a good amount of faith in the US propaganda machine to turn US interventionism into another Iraq war situation, where we are told that "we will be in and out, fuys! We will lose like 2 men and have peace in the middle east forever! Oh, also the bad guys have nukes!"
We will see in due time whether US isolationism will continue to become more publicly popular. For now my tax dollars are going to a country in the Levant that most US citizens probably couldn't point to on a map. -
