I'm trying to come up with my own because have found others too basic, there's no mention of sexual stuff or acupuncture. Does anyone have anything to add?

    Legacy

House of Leaves served as one of the prime inspirations for MyHouse.wad, a Doom II mod revolving around a house that is constantly shifting and changing in uncomfortable ways, making frequent use of non-Euclidean space. The map was released in March 2023.[17][18][19] Critic Terry Mesnard wrote that the 2020 movie You Should Have Left felt "ripped" from the House of Leaves.[20]

Originally posted by Kafka I had a nightmare inspired by it. It was that I was a soldier and crashed a black aeroplane in a sunny meadow in a forest. I took the kitten back to the real world but it died instantly because it wasn’t used to sunlight. Then I tried cloning it but the experiment went wrong and contaminated the real world atmosphere with the blackness.

I have a vague memory of ranting about the book right after my dad died. I wonder if that's common for people experiencing grief to obsess over it.

It’s well known that house of leaves is an extended allegory for erectile dysfunction.

This is my diary entry from right after my dad died. I feel shocked at how much I've changed:

"I'm about to lose it. I don't know if Migi coming back into my life is good or bad. I'm done with Carrie she stood me up. My Betterhelp therapist doesn't even want to talk with me he said I should talk to my psychologist instead. I know I'm depressed because this is the first time there's no books I really want to buy... and I realised, I always read other peoples favourite books, I don't know what kind of books I like.

So I've turned to Fetlife and some fucked up shit. Actually I did just buy a book but it's Fetlife related so you don't want to know. There's no availability for botox appointments. I've been non-stop cleaning a bad sign. I just feel so lost.

The only thing I can think to do is go to Belfast today to get coke, spend time outside and ig try to make friends irl. The arcade is open and has the original Space Invaders game so that's comforting. Doodle Jump and Space Invaders are my best games. I'll probably start replying to more messages I get on Fetlife as well. Maybe being drowned in male attention will help me."
