Not defending them per se, but that is just your opinion. There would obviously be many people in this world who would disagree, their family and friends especially, who would all likely miss them dearly and be very grief stricken at their loss, I'm sure.

I don't think you understand how men's plumbing works.
When a man takes a piss, he holds the shaft, that's just skin, he could be holding his wrist for all it mattered. Few men if any then run their hands under the stream as it comes out and doesn't generally have a need to put his hands any where near the exit hole...so from a hygienic point of view...holding your cock is no different than say...holding one of your fingers.
Of course it's always good idea to wash your hands but skin on skin contact generally doesn't result in "sudden" contamination...again anymore so than touching one's wrist, forearm, finger etc.
Obviously women who mop up their mess with paper should be washing their hands every time. -
