Off duty police can work security. I'm sure a bunch of them got paid with shutdowns and the increased need for security in places. I definitely saw some off duty cops pushing people around in the mall in my hood. They vax checked me a few times. -

If you're a cop, you can work a second, or even third, job, and still get paid by the City. So they can make three paychecks at the same time. -
