   Imagine instead of an email to sign up you instead input a phone number and it sends a fascimail BMP of a QR code of your verification link

   You would have to actually receive the transmission to get the verification link so it would have to be an actual working number and there is already code that detects if you try to use the same email to sign up so I think that would work the same with phone/fax numbers

   i do it all the time with facebook...assorted emails...aol...etc etc
   
   i have literally thousands of accounts and literally not thousands of phones
