Iran warned israel 72 hours in advance and allowed them to prepare specifically to prove the point that there was NOTHING they could do to stop Iranian missiles. it was a relatively minor attack that struck the three major facilities (two airbases and an intelligence HQ) that were used to conduct the embassy attack in Syria even though israel, the US, Jordan and others expended over $1.3billion in munitions alone trying to stop it.
"we shot down hundreds of drones!"
that was the point, the drones were worth around $10k each, being shot down with missiles that range anywhere from $100k (IRON DOME) to $4m+ (PATRIOTS and ARROWS) so that the ballistic and cruise missiles made it through uncontested.
"we shot down 99% of the missiles!"
there are public videos of tens of missiles striking the airbases and anti-air complexes.
"they didn't do any real damage!"
israel has a gag order banning publication of any media relating to those three bases. lol.
they released one video of them claiming minor damage to an airbase, but only showed a small hole with no scorch marks and carefully kept buildings and hangars out of frame.

2. why would they strike a diplomatic compound in a third country? it's a ridiculous escalation and the only thing that makes sense is that they were trying to provoke a response. now they have it.
3. Netenyahu is going to be torn apart once he leaves office, so he's doing everything possible to make sure it can't happen.
