Oil Change Services are Expensive

    I'm about to pay almost 100$ to get my oil changed. I usually change it myself, but I need it done now and I already showered today and I would not like to get covered in oil.

    Glad I'm getting it done now though. I must've driven 100+ miles yesterday with the oil change light on

    They are fixing a whole bunch of shit on my car that I've needed to get fixed for a while thank god.

    I got pulled over the other night for my rear taillight being out, I thought I was going to have to hop from store to store to get the parts I need but I suppose not.

    I was listening to "Captain Capitalism" Aaron Clarey whinging about this the other day. Apparently it used to be $60. He decided that was too expensive so went and did it himself, and correctly concluded that the west is no longer a place where people can afford to live unless they're very rich or very poor.

    And he's right, no reason not to do simple car things like oil changes and bulb replacements yourself - you just need the tools and a place to do it.

    some autoparts stores 'rent' tools for free if you buy the parts from them

    i know someone who changes a giant commercial trucks oil in a parking lot, letting the oil drain into the ground...then tosses on a new enhancement and the old one into a random dumpster.
