2017-06-10 at 5:14 AM UTCI'm seeing a consistent pattern among famous (existential) philosophers. They disportionately (particularly for their time) did not marry, have children, and were agnostic or atheist.
This is a very good sign of character. -
2017-06-10 at 5:37 AM UTCI really wish eugenics hadn’t become such a massive taboo and had become adopted in most of the world as standard policy.
“But Malice, you wouldn’t have been born.”
Duh. That would have been great, I would have no problems right now.
I’m just reading about compulsory sterilization and pondering various aspects of it, along with fantasizing about strategies used, the potential it could have had with modern technology and knowledge, how much better the world could have been.

There's a considerable wing of existentialism in Christianity. Kierkegaard is commonly considered the earliest existentialist philosopher, and was a christian.

2017-06-10 at 6:29 AM UTCI know, I’m disregarding them because I don’t think they matter. Or at least their theological beliefs don’t.

Then the observation is moronic. "Hey guys, have you ever noticed all the existentialists who aren't christian because I don't care about them are, for some reason, not christian!?! Shocking!"The following users say it would be alright if the author of this post didn't die in a fire! -

Christianity isn’t the only religion and the other traits I mentioned aren’t exclusive to the non-religious, you Friday night drunkard. -
2017-06-10 at 7:03 AM UTCY'know, I will say, Christianity essentially does away with need for most philosophical discussions, so it actually makes sense Christian philosophers are relatively few in number and rather insignificant.

I have to agree, although I was just a junkie/drug addict. It fucking sucks being sober, life was so much easier when all I worried about was getting high. Even WDs were cathartic, and a small (severely fucked up) part of me misses them too. I still have to attend NA meetings and I want to kill myself every fucking time. Hearing other people rationalize their addictions makes me realize how fucked in the head I am. I like to think I'm better than your average junkie who sucks dick for crack, but honestly I've done way worse things in my quest to get high; if anything I'm worse. -
