Florida couple arrested after found locked in college closet for two days Amber Campbell, 25, and John Arwood, 31, were reportedly pulled out of a Daytona State College closet where authorities reported smelling meth inside. They were arrested for trespassing. A Florida couple has been arrested after they were reportedly found locked in a college campus' closet for two days - but deputies say they likely could have escaped at any time. Amber Campbell, 25, and John Arwood, 31, were rescued Tuesday from inside Daytona State College, which is closed for the holidays, after Arwood eventually phoned 911 for help, WFTV reported. Curiously, when the door was finally opened investigators reported smelling meth inside. John Arwood, 31, was charged with trespassing. VOLUSIA COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE John Arwood, 31, was charged with trespassing. They also described having no trouble getting into or out of the closet themselves. Both were booked on charges of trespassing. When asked what they were doing inside the closet, the couple reportedly told police that they were hiding after being chased on campus by unknown suspects. Jailhouse records show that this was Campbell's second booking in Volusia County following charges in 2013 for aggravated battery of a law enforcement officer with a firearm, escape, resisting an officer with violence, and giving a false name upon being arrested. It was Arwood's fourth time, however, following multiple arrests for driving with a suspended license among other charges.

A couple who were ‘high on drugs’ managed to become trapped in a janitor’s cupboard for two days, only to find it was unlocked the whole time.
Amber Campbell, 25, and John Arwood, 31 broke into the Marine and Environmental Science Center in Daytona, Florida and found a closet where they allegedly smoked crystal meth and crack cocaine.
In their intoxicated state the pair forgot how to exit the cupboard, and were trapped inside for two days before they finally decided to call the police on Tuesday.
Officers went to the building where the strong smell of excrement led them to the entrapped couple.
