China is certainly a country to take seriously. Since the Communists took over in 1921 and then the restructuring that happened twice - once in the 50s and once in the 80s have allowed China to enjoy Capitalist gains while still retaining a death grip strangle hold on the average citizen, Soviet-concrete block style. No one gave them much concern, until their development on the nuclear bomb which wasn't until 1964. You'd think their bromos (USSR) would've shared the tech by then, but nah.
Anyway, it's estimated that China holds the world's 3rd largest stockpile of nuclear weapons, although most of that stockpile is older ICBM tech rather than more modern MIRV tech.
