    Everything is ice outside. Its not even snowing anymore, its just little ice balls coming down. Snow comes tonight.

    Its like a ghost town everywhere. I didn't even see any other footprints. Everyone is staying inside.

    It's supposed to be below freezing the next couple days. Being from Ohio I'm used to the first freeze being November or December, not late January. Kinda nice though, I will miss it this summer when it's 115° in the shade though.

    There are some power outages but not for me. I'm keeping my place at 75F just in case I lose power. It must be horrible to have no power with these low temps.

    anyone that lives somewhere that the temperatures drop low enough to be dangerous...or even deadly...needs to have backup options for survival. electric is absolutely undependable...even if the grid stays up despite the current levels of affirmative-action incompetence there is the high likelihood of something else happening to take out the power...like a tree branch falling, traffic accident, etc.

    propane or kerosene heater...woodstove...or less efficiently a backup electric generator to feed power to an electric heater (very inefficient)...then worst-case scenario for the final level of survival: good quality warm clothing with an arctic-rated sleeping bag.

    It got to hot, I had to open my windows and let some fresh 16F air in. There are still little ice flakes coming down. Its extremely quiet outside, except I did hear a scream while my windows were open. Usually there is a shitload of noise at this time.

    I noticed earlier today that the parking lot was full and nobodys vehicles had snow removed. So everyone is staying home and inside. I walked to a nearby store twice because I got bored and I'm considering going for a late night walk.

    It rarely gets this cold here and when it does, its only for a few days.
