Maybe the waves aren't rogue maybe they are doing exactly what they are supposed to, following orders , manufactured waves directed at a target

we normally have the sand and soil that shows along the coast of the bay here when tide recedes and it's not letting up all day. it's the highest I ever seen it push in. but luckily it's not raining in the Berkeley area right now. it usually only fills up about a few hours then tide goes back out. it's still full. kind of strange and there is a weird tooley fog instead of coastal fog lingering about. eerie looking.

    that came to mind.

it will surge for the next two weeks on and off. saturday almost as much today or possibly more if the storm bring in more water.

what would be interesting is a Massive Quake (not really.. dont want to die like that) on New Years Eve when everyone is at Pier 1 next to the Wharf they have every year and a quake hits with a high tide surge all in one.

in 1906, the quake caused a giant whirlpool in the bay pulling ships down and spitting them back up 1 mile inland with a surge of bay water pushing in that far.

they find old ships from the 1800s (that still were used in the early 1900s) under sidewalks now and then when repairing old sewer lines. if it happened before, it will happen again

Fire destroyed most of the city but the quake killed a shitload of people first.

one thing people dont realize is that before 1906, they knew about quakes and had strict codes and stick structures actually stand up well to quakes like Victorian homes did (unless there was liquefaction below)

but after 1906 they said many people rushed to rebuild and didn't wait for proper inspections. there are a fuckload of row-houses built post 1906 that will probably fall over.

San Francisco allows people to buy their way out of protocols it seems. clearly someone didn't anchor the Millenial building properly

Wouldn't be "mandatory" for me. I'd tell them to go fuck themselves. A mandate isn't a law.
The following users say it would be alright if the author of this post didn't die in a fire!

I live 15 miles from the Coast and a mile or so from the Waters-edge from that of the bay.

I'm in a hilly foothill region actually. Not a worry for me. but if that Asteroid they spoke about that is supposed to hit around 2032 does hit off the coast of LA then yeah.. I need to get build this place or sell the land or hopefully buy elsewhere. maybe a ranch land with an old structure i can fix up.

fuck renting. here.. "here is my money, can I live in your structure with your rules?"

the only good thing about being a renter is you could just move with a month's notice however most places lease the first year and then rent month to month after that. so you're committed for an entire year unless you share a place and your name isn't on the lease. sub-letting is also risky if you're on the lease because they damage walls or break windows, you're responsible.

they told that surfer guy to get the fuck out of the water and he ignored the fuck out of them. I was watching it on the news yesterday and he wouldn't get out.. he had the whole wave to himself.

I doubt there would be the kind of firestorm in San Francisco that happened in 1906 because most shit is geared with its own water tower and sprinkler supression.

the homes might; especially row houses, but it wont be half the city burning down. even with broken water pipes there will just be spotty fires and the concrete and steel buildings today will just be a firewall

the homes away from downtown could go though. especially on the hillsides made of wood. but the giant firestorm was partly that of the fire department and army because they were never trained to set off tnt to create a fire break and were just blowing shit up left and right and those started fires along with the other earthquake related fires. so the storm got bigger and bigger.

it's never the official story like the Cow that tipped over a gas latern in Chicago. that was total bullshit and they actually targeted an Irish lady because there was discrimination against Irish like they had against blacks in the day. and they didn't pick some fictional lady with an Irish name, they picked a known Alcoholic that lived in the reporters neighborhood and she was harassed and abused physically for years.
