I demand a re count! LOL but SRSly I think the majority of serious mental illnesses/deficits are clearly obvious aka the sufferer generally acts bat shit insane or clearly can't even fit in day to day society. If that's not the case and there's still an argument for something mentally wrong well it's probably not that much of a problem if they can maintain a place to live, friendships, a source of income etc.

That isn't true, you can do all that, have all that, and still be miserable. People who are depressed, bipolar, have severe anxiety, even schizophrenia or high functioning autism, can be successful in life, but still suffering. It may only require taking medication, possibly some therapy.
