Fun With Laundry

Anyone that wants to have a good time with their laundry...do a regular load, using the regular volume of detergent and additives, with the washer settings to their highest volume of water and the longest run time to get the load as clean as the machine is capable of doing. Then dry the load.

Then once the load is dry, stick it back in the washing machine filled with just water and no detergent or additives. Let the agitator run for a few minutes.

Turn off the machine and let the clothes settle and take a look at the water.

    Yea.

    Disgusting.

just did that same process today but by hand instead of a washing machine (and probably like 4x the normal amount of soap just because) and didnt have that problem, but ive never tried it with a machine. maybe i should just start doing all my laundry by hand..

That's exactly it...machines suck. For years I've experimented and no machine does a good job. Front-load HE machines literally do virtually nothing useful.

The way I do laundry now is let it soak in ammonia and detergent for about 24 hours...48 if theyre work clothes or particularly dirty...then run the regular cycle...then let them soak-cycle in a full washer for a few hours then rinse and repeat until the soak water is completely clear.

If it's summer with high humidity I'll dry them in a dryer but in winter with 40-pct humidity I just hang the clothes on hangers for about 24 hours and they're dry. Some things...like towels...ill fluff in the dryer to get them to feel good.

the soap bottles say they're engineered now to work with just cold water. you never have to use warm or hot water again. like it's energy aware

they should make a bikini out of a beach ball where the sphere goes from the collarbone down to the bottom in the crotch and then its just like a normal beach ball but with some of the panels missing and obviously stretched a bit vertically to fit. then get some 90 lbs girl on coke to model it and shes just high af eyes half open like a renassaince painting or something then take a black and white photo for the ad and then sell the beach ball bikini for like $12k

did you use tap water ?

do you know fabrics absorb whatever thats in the tap water ? and after theyre dry those chemicals stay on the fabric until you wear them and then they leech into your skin.

use bottled water for laundry if you value your life and body.

They don't change basic physics and chemistry. Warm water always cleans better.

    HE machines are a scam

Yea...and the low-flow toilets work so well

I'm a clean freak when it comes to my laundry

You're not allowed to wear underwear...it'll inhibit your easy access. And you can model those cute bikinis for my viewing pleasure, knowing you'll be stripping them off afterwards

What detergent r u using, when I switched from yellow 'simply' bullshit ass tide to red I noticed a huuuuuge difference, plus I read that yellow bottle is just 50% of thebred bottle cleaning ingredients.

BTW wtf do u do to get ur clothes that dirty homie?

ive tried almost all of them...from the top-shelf tide, cheap-ass store brands, and miscellaneous ones in between

not even counting work clothes that are covered in dirt, dust, and grime, just wearing clothes out to shopping...restaurants...etc apparently is enough to get dirty enough to leave some discoloration in the water

something else ive noticed when hand washing with the regular detergent is there is some sort of sticky shit on my hands that doesnt come off

when i handwash my flying clothes in woolite i dont get the same stickyness afterwards. but i only use woolite to handwash my flight outfit and wetsuits.

also theres a neat trick i discovered accidentally on how to deal with that unwashable mushky polyester smell.

    use saturated soap water.

just keep adding detergent to your laundry water till you can dunk your oily hands into it and rub for a while and come out oil free after you rinse them off.

thats how soapy you need to wash polyester fabrics effectively.

No Underwear? ouch. that causes rubbing and chafing to occur especially with Jeans.

also remember what your Mom said. always wear a clean pair of undies in case you're in an accident. no underwear? Oh no.. your pants tear and your stuff hanging out. also if you poop yourself in an accident it will keep it from rolling out

    now you got shit everywhere
