that being said i think theres fairly obvious reasons as to why one might choose vanessa carltons driving piano over most others that have nothing to do w/ race. unless you mean race like nascar. in which case it is probably racist because her piano doesnt seem very aerodynamic. -

premise of the question is racist because it assumes a western world centric view of music is superior to others by the very fact that you are asking about singers who are also pianists. when the western world started exploring africa and african culture w regards to music they thought africans just had shit music ability because the rhythms and melodies and techniques they used were foreign to the western ear and thus didnt really sound good. same thing is happening here pretty much, of course it is going to be more difficult for someone to name black singer/pianists than it is white (is VC even white idk) because thats the type of music youre going to hear in the type of house that has live laugh love placards all over their walls and lets just be real, white people are probably the most likely by far to grow up in a house that just has pianos laying around and shit. i learned this in college so thats how you know its true. thx ms. jackson
