They are estranged from their families and their neighbors. Drugs are a waste of time. They destroy your memory and your self-respect and everything that goes along with your self esteem . They need drugs, apparently, because they have lost each other.

I don't really see it as a problem. I've been sober for a minute but I will do drugs again, I cannot say when. The market is constantly shifting and I don't buy my drugs "on the street" I don't trust people, everything they get is trash, I can get my own shit. When I lived in the woods in the middle of nowhere with no shipping, no mailbox I got all kinds of stuff, it's not hard if you read a few books and look in the right places.
I don't get along with most drug users, I think they are not economically or morally aligned with me
I know anarchist communists that refuse to do cocaine because they think it supports anti communist efforts, but they are down to do LSD or MDMA.
I probably do more drugs than any of these degenerates you hang out with OP or yourself but I don't do any crime or perv on kids or do crime, I try to be normal. I don't understand why people have to automatically be criminals if they do drugs, I've known plenty of people especially drug addicts that do nothing but go to work and abuse drugs, you never see them or hear about them, they hide their addiction from everyone except other hardcore addicts.
