So the camera arrives cosmetically damaged and over the last week I've looked into getting a power cord to plug in directly but never bought one.
The cost to proceed with my project is estimated around $200 and that's far over my budget (sadly).
Id need the power cord.
Id need a betamax player.
And I'd need hardware/software to transfer it to PC.
But since idk if the camera will even work or if whatever betamax player id get would work I'm aborting this (for now) and returning the damaged camera for a refund.
Hopefully in the future I'll run into one at a thrift store or garage sale and can pick up where I left off.
Sorry for not being able to continue with this but it's financially not worth it.
Xmas on betamax would have been cool AF tho.

beta was a better format and higher quality but didn't have the mode to record more than 1 hour while vhs could record 2 hours standard and up to 6 hours with lower quality.
beta was just not a good format to record a 2 hour tv movie on. it would of had gaps between change out unless you did it during commercial.
but it had double line recording which created a clearer video and even when converted to digital it looks much better but wont change the resolution but it looks more digital than analoge

I don't know what that camcorder is like in person, but old electronics and consumer goods in general were shit tier. All cheap and plasticy and badly put together.
