I hear there's a bunch of jokes about Rabbis arguing with each other because that's such a common facet of the religion. Shame that people don't even understand that much. Even I know the Talmud is a collection of commentaries by various rabbis, not all of which have solid enough jurisprudential standing to be considered prescriptive.
