when i was in the navy we'd fly over the houses of friends and family at the lowest possible altitude. 99.9999% of people would say they enjoyed it and to do it again. there'd always be the one doucher who'd call the base to complain. as an inside scoop of what happens when someone calls the base to complain...the call goes to the main number and is answered by someone who is on 'duty' which is basically a second job where theyre working additional hours to their normal working hours. on the base i was on it was someone who had nothing to do with flight ops so theyd ask to ID the aircraft. if the caller could ID the squadron the phone-answerer would send it to the squadron duty office. if not the phone-answerer would say they couldnt do anything if you cant ID the plane...and be as nice to them as they could. then hang up.
ive received calls of the like and literally told one old fucking woman that id make sure the person flying the plane would get fired...with the entire conversation being overheard...and laughed at...by the duty aircrews hanging around being forced to 'work' after their normal working hours.
tldr: calling a base to complain about aircraft is a waste of time

a Jet cartwheeled into an apartment complex when I was a kid. dude flipped upside down and his wings caught fire and we watched it hit the building or off into the distant where the apartment was. Massive Mushroom cloud
I was 6-7 years old.
loud as fuck. the weird thing was the human-scream like sound the jet made .. real loud screech and then tumbling metal sound and loud crash bang. thats something you never forget I guess.
but the mushroom cloud was massive.
