if you compare the cost/benefit ratio as the evaluating factor then yes, theyre good. theyll last for casual use...and i know people who use them professionally. one i know of used professionally wore out its piston rings after i dont know how long and the engine wouldnt provide any compression.
i personally use a troy-bilt and a honda generator.

Harbor Freight Tools, a family-owned and operated company founded in 1977 by Eric Smidt's father, is the maker of Predator generators.
here...ill provide some translation services for you:
Where Are Predator Generators Made?
Harbor Freight’s Predator Generators are designed in Calabasas, California at our state-of-the-art design center and built by our industry’s leading manufacturers of tools. By searching worldwide, Harbor Freight is able to create relationships with some of the industry’s leading manufacturers of tools. We work closely with each of our partners to ensure that all of our products are safe to use and will last our customers for years to come. In most cases these manufacturers are the same ones that produce products for other big name brands, but because we buy directly from them and sell directly to our customers, our prices are much more competitive.
note the wording they use:
Harbor Freight’s Predator Generators are designed in Calabasas, California
designed. the generators are designed in california
…built by our industry’s leading manufacturers of tools. By searching worldwide, Harbor Freight is able to create relationships with some of the industry’s leading manufacturers…
built. the generator is built somewhere ambiguous. they specifically dont state where the generator is manufactured because the company outsources the manufacturing to whatever factory in whatever country will provide the lowest cost of production. whether that is china...indonesia...taiwan...malasia...whothefuckknowswhere...
a key takeaway here is they dont directly answer the question and instead reply with vagaries and distraction.
