   my little shit hole costs 550 a year in taxes,, any improvement that the town can see as an improvement and they will say its worth 100,000 and start charging me 2000 a year property tax and I'm trying to stay at 550 a year cuz when i was young I knew I wanted rent a place for 50 bucks a month and instead I own a place that tax/ ie rent.. is right at 50 a month.

   mine is less than that but ive owned it for decades...when the property taxes were a lot lower...and by law the max they can raise property taxes is 3% per year. at 65 property taxes are waived.

   I had a similar problem with squirrels where I live. I needed to catch them reasonably alive so I could feed them to my snake, meaning I didn't want to use kill traps and the live traps weren't working.
   
   They sell a gell-formed goo that you can liquefy in heat, pour onto a surface (i use scrap plywood or PVC board), then allow to 'solidify' into a gell that is sticky. It's basically how they make glue traps.
