There actually is a reason for this! Although it's not reverse cucking, it's a sort of verification process. Essentially, if a man is in a relationship there's already someone who has vouched for whether he's worthy to have attracted anyone at all, involuntary celibacy being far more common among men.

The main gist of the study I recalled is that they showed heterosexuals pictures of the opposite gender and had them rate their attractiveness, then others were told that some people were in a relationship, they accounted for various factors, and processed the data. Only women showed a significant increase in their ratings for the opposite sex who they were told was in a relationship, and IIRC it may have been as much as a 20 point increase in the percentage of women who stated they found someone attractive.

from my observations, the women who are typically trying to take away a male from their gf/wife are ones who have had their significant others cheat on them with other women in one way or another.
also in my observations, when I'm in a serious-ish relationship, it never fails that women fall all over themselves to try to get to me. when I'm single...I could dress up to the T, be driving an attractive car, and still not get the pussy. one time I was holding a car door open for a chick I was with and there was another chick getting out of her car wearing a miniskirt. she spread her legs for a full view the entire time I stared at her, making eye contact. literally...wtf? that shit never happens.
another time I was in a relationship and a semi-attractive coworker and her really attractive friend told me they wanted to do a threesome with me. they both knew I had a gf because we all worked together. I declined because I had a gf. a few months later when the chick I was dating and I broke up...I called the attractive chick to set something up. all of a sudden she didn't have a availability. wtf is that shit?
