Oh yea. The best time was when two other supervisors and myself were arguing over weekend pay. I finally said fuck this shit...in going home. On the way out i told the other supervisor he had to figure out what my crew was doing for the day because...screw you guys, im going home. His response was to jump up out of his chair, spraying his breakfast tray all over the place due to it being on his lap...and ultimately two other guys getting between us to break up the disagreement.

Good times were had by all

Almost, my boss tried to pull some bullshit at my last job (basically changing my job description to "does whatever the fuck I(boss) say" which meant shit a secretary should be doing (inb4 blowjob joke)) and I said I'd quit if he did. I was ready to go change all the passwords and microwave my workstation's hard drive but he changed his mind when I threatened to leave. Guess I don't get cool points for actually quitting but then it probably would have been kinda childish if I had.

No genuine reference for that period and if he was able to find your future employers and contact them you may have never had a job in the field again. Serious breach of professional conduct. Particularly for your pay levels, for sectors like finance and other high income areas.

Reminds me of the things you've posted about your behavior when younger. Those innate factors have a strong biological basis and rarely fully change. It would be hilarious to see you rage because I think you're too much of a pussy to do in anything but an indirect or passive aggressive manner.

Why do you go around calling people pussy Malice. Are you a tough guy? Have you ever fought someone IRL? Probably not because that would mean actually interacting with real people.

Lanny has stated it himself. I actually find it endearing, every group should have a male that can fill a somewhat submissive and feminine role at times.

Listen to you, afraid of people and calling someone else submissive.

In the old restaurant/hospitality line of work, this is very common. I have rarely put in a 2 week notice, particularly because I'm sort of a dickhead like that, and also because I just work jobs until I get so sick of it that I can't stand to work another day, so having to work 2 more weeks, well, the thought is basically unbearable. Like my last job at the high-end steak place, I quit about a month and half ago after working there and having a good relationship with all of my co-workers for a year and half. Then, people seemed to give less and less of a shit while I picked up their slack, and nobody gave me credit or a raise, so I said fuck it. It was stupid of me as I have bills to pay, and I found a few other cringe jobs after that which I quit one after one shift and the other one mid-shift.

3 weeks ago I decided to go back to my roots and apply at the pizza joint a block away from where I live. They started me at $9.50 an hour which was less than the $11-$12 I'm used to working for (yeah, laugh it up, I get by). Anyway, I've stuck with it, worked with the hard-working, detail-oriented, efficient work ethic that I somehow possess, and just yesterday my boss told me he's bumping me up to $13.00 an hour, which is the most I've ever made (excluding some tipped-jobs). It's also the biggest raise I've ever received in one passing. I don't know if I have a point here other than that, for me, things just always seem to work out, and sometimes strangely, like this instance, they work out better based on my irresponsibility (quitting my previous jobs with no notice and suddenly making more than I've ever made).

Just imagine if I actually applied myself to something greater than a restaurant! JUST IMAGINE!

It stems from being used to selling yourself short.

It's never going to happen, don't get a big head. Don't misunderstand, I'm happy for you, getting $13 an hour at a pizza joint a block from your house, but at your age, judging from your past behavior and life history, you're never going to make it. Compared to even the average White male, let alone what's seen as the standard, educated, on track in a well paying career, starting a family, buying their first house, you're nothing.

I would highly recommend this book to you: http://www.amazon.com/The-Defining-D.../dp/0446561754

You blew it, your time's past. You're so far behind there simply isn't any realistic chance that you're going to catch up by now, you may as well accept it.The numerous studies conducted, the data/statistics available, all clearly demonstrate this. You aren't a special snowflake, a downtrodden genius who's tragically unable to access their potential due to circumstances in life outside of their control. You're a loser, completely unremarkable. Everyone thinks they're special, at least until they finally accept the truth and give up for good, that this is finally going to be the time they turn things around, but it never happens and never will.

This is just the way life is. It's never going to be what you want it to. People are all searching for something that simply doesn't exist.

This was the job I had in college so I could have gotten by without the reference. As for them trying to hunt down future employers, it seems unlikely they would and even if they did I had a contingency plan.

What behavior when I was younger? In this case I might have actually done it since, like I said, I had a feasible exit strategy but it's true I almost never get angry enough to do something I fully expect to end in a net loss. I have family members who will fly off the handle sometimes, I've seen them royally fuck themselves over out of spite for some perceived offense (I may have told the story of my grandfather who fired his entire staff because they had the staff sing him happy birthday at a restaurant when he told them not to). In some sense you've got to respect people like that for being authentic, sticking to their guns and all that but in the end life is long and you've got to play the numbers if you want to come out on top.

Well, Malice, there's no doubt that I've grown content living with the small amount of luxuries I have, and at the moment, I'm ok with that. I do disagree, though, that I won't be able to regain a sense of greater purpose and motivation that allows me to do something more 'worthwhile' than working menial jobs. Different and unique opportunities and scenarios have always been a part of my life, such as perhaps they are for many individuals. Fortunately, I'm NOT trapped in a relationship, or job, or with children, or any sort of thing that can hold a person back from pursuing whatever they so choose. I can go down nearly any path I want right now, and though I'm 30 and 'behind' in comparison to many who go to college at the standard age and have been pursuing professional careers, I don't see how I can't make something special happen in the next year, 5 years, 10, or 20, etc. I've been to Europe, I've been to prison. I've traveled the country, and I've lived in a box. I've met amazing people and watched people die. I've experienced the full spectrum of emotions. Am I a special snowflake? Not at the moment. But nobody is if they aren't willing to believe that they CAN be, and I KNOW that I can be, despite what you may think. Once I get out of the rut I've been in (which I've done before), and I get the ball rolling, with a full head of steam, I will do something great, whether it's writing a novel or starting a business or performing stand up comedy, who fucking knows? The world is my oyster and I don't care who says otherwise.

I'm the guy with the serial killer face and the red beanie. I AM REMARKABLE!
