Need a new couch. they're expensive af. a decent one is 2000 bucks for a 3 seater 6 plus foot.
so.. Yeah, I just bought a couch cover from temu. it's already fraying. just not looking to buy a new couch again. pieces of shit. nothing is quality anymore for around 300-500 bucks like I could get 20 years back -
2023-11-06 at 10:36 PM UTCI bought a couch in 2005 for 350 bucks that was the most amazing and comfortable thing. lasted 12 years before it started to frey and tear and sag a bit. but it was so firm and comfy.
that place made them in the back of the store.. took 2 weeks to bring it to your house. it went out of business but they were a local family.
Fuck these "Luxery" furniture stores. they're cheap shit and overpriced. Especially in California
a couch should be like a springboard for kids to trampoline off of and not even put a dent in the sink cushions

my parents have a leather couch that is decades old and is only barely scuffing/dulling on the seat area. the 'guts' are steel frame (its mechanical) and some sort of heavy wood...maybe plywood
a few weeks ago i went furniture shopping at one the the 'best' furniture stores near me and the 'best' living room set they had was shit-tier aluminum framing, MDF wood base, and shit-tier fake leather...but was several thousand dollars for a couch, love seat, center table, and a coffee table.
the sales guy wasnt overly thrilled at my commentary about how all the 'new' furniture they have looks like someone found an abandoned 60s furniture warehouse -
