Why aren't you playing Rust? (Or Squad)(I'm trying Dwarf Fortress too and it sucks)

Lanyard offered to purchase 7days2die for me and I still haven't taken him up on that so I doubt I'll be logging in to play Rust anytime soon, unfortunately. Maybe I'm scared I'll become addicted.
On a side note, instead of playing Ole fake munny Replay Poker, I actually put down a bill on BetOnline this summer and played a bunch of 5 and 10$ tournaments. I won $500 on my 2nd day and then accordingly slowly lost it all thinking I was good. Pretty sure that shit is rigged anyway. -

Yeah its a time sink, depending on how much time you put in, since you are perpetually in danger of a raid and losing progress, you put more time in insuring you don't get raided. Or just perpetually live in a 2X2....
Yeah I want to verify I'm playing poker with people I heard bots run that shit as well. I think you have to pay in a certain amount to even guarantee your playing with real players I tried a few $5 bitcoins on Americas Cardroom and it felt botty but I dunno. Replay Poker still fun I still practice on there been a while tho. -

It definitely felt "botty." I understand that poker logic has changed a lot since 10 years ago and theres a lot more theory behind it, so it's definitely more difficult to be successful at it than it used to be, if you don't know exactly what you're doing. A lot of these pros follow very mathematical formulatic approach to it all, akin to counting cards in blackjack.
If you play every hand the exact same way you're "supposed to" and follow pot odds and such, you'll always come out marginally ahead. I don't have time for that shit so I still just play recklessly and hope for the best.
But yeah there were a few games where I would have pocket aces like three times within ten hands which is absurd, and then one game where I literally went 28 hands in a row without getting an ace or face card. That was when I knew it was fucky. The odds of that IRL are beyond astronomical even if you played all day every day for decades, let alone me experiencing it after a week of playing for the first time in years. -

I forgot to say though $500 nice job tho. I'd be exhausted, I get mentally taxed just playing with fake chips in multi-table replay poker tables. Yeah that does sound fishy. Remember when I played with you when I was poor with chips and you casually went all-in with like 50k and lost it and I was like OMG
The online casinos like Roobet and Stake are fun af too but same rules apply. I turned $10 into like $110 with that "Multiply cash X 1.2% every second but lose it all if don't cashout" game but then it was just too much god damn fun and I lost it all. 5 forgotten beasts, 1 forest titan, two giants and a dragon
my fort has a dozen orphans and some widows that have gone totally insane and start fights in the halls for no reason. I have an entire industry dedicated to mass producing graves and dealing with ghosts. I thought a vampire was killing everyone in my fort, no it was an army of ghosts.
I caught the dragon in a cage and built a walls around it
all the sheep are dead. I tried to kidnap a nudist goblin using water pipes but I ended up flooding half the fort instead.
It's true what they say, losing is fun. Slow death with occasional triumph is less fun, I don't think this fort will die anytime soon though it will just end up growing until the game is running at 1fps and I give up and switch to adventure mode oh wait that's not in this versionThe following users say it would be alright if the author of this post didn't die in a fire! -

That middle photo is why I haven't put much time in, I hate when you make steady progress on games and then random events cause a shitstorm. Like I'm willing to deal with the downsides of PVP for it to be natural and blatant. But that's why I usually turned off natural disasters on Sim City, and turn on Peaceful mode in Factorio.
I built a shitty base in the middle of W6 near fishing village on Icefuse.net 5x .Found some scarecrows and spooky fences for Halloween. Will probably just fortify it with all current materials and forget about it just so people waste sulfur trying to raid.

2023-10-27 at 6:18 PM UTCThis one orphan 9 year old girl in my fort has completely gone insane and she is pretty strong. She has killed like 6 dogs, trained war dogs. And about 12 trained soldiers including the mayor of the fort one of my original starting dorfs
His death has caused a wave of anger and depression. She continues her violent rampage unable to be arrested due to her age
She has no parents or family and just wanders around in a daze going into violent fits of rage beating the shit out of multiple guards and killing animals, also breaking workshops.
