nothing beats a 16 gage shotgun shell filled with rice and tums for rat shot,, the tumms I had to sand down to fit the shot shell cuz all my small tums are missing so I had to use a 10 gage tume ground down to a 16 gage then after its filled with rice I jam the tums into the end of said shell and then I burn the plastic shell end so it holds the tums better making it shoot wicked hard and it took the top of one rats head right off, earlier I had one pokin his head out of the hole underr the sink for over 2 hrs I sat in the chair waiting for a good shot till my hands went numb so I gave up and crashed out on my couch till they woke me up then I slid my gun up to the shootin slot and let the rat run from the stove over to the dog food bowl 3 or 4 times before takin the kill shot,, I took his head right off his neck,, he's in the wood stove now and I'm gonna try to get some sleep while the family mornes the loss of a brother
