but nicer. I think culture was nicer. Music was more chill. Gangster rap didn't really take off until mid-late 80s. before that it was East Coast pop style rap. Left Coast Rap spoke about killing cops and shit. Cops not happy bout that. obviously not.
everyone was healthier and thinner. women who were overweight would never go "Pffft" to a guy. not being shallow but it was rare. most women were more conservative. women today are either whorish as fuck or "STOP LOOKING AT ME WORKING OUT IN MY SKIN TIGHT OUTFIT ADMIRING MYSELF IN THE MIRROR"
so fucking weird. people would compliment each other at the gym. help each other out. people didn't have guns that I remembered. just fought with fists. usually wrestling and slamming each other down or temp choke hold. Not "Knock out choke". and slamming each other into walls and shit. FLMAO. just letting steam off.
No one fucking shot or stabbed other people. Only fucking hoodrats did this shit. Young men have own rifles or long guns for over hundreds of years. such a rare thing to start killing people you didn't know. everyone shot was known or a robber trying to harm them and family. but of course this is not a Oakland problem its a world wide problem these days. even in Europe and NZ, Australia etc.
everyone had blonde hair. but really most women just dyed or lightened their hair. so many long blond hair when I was growing up.
and post punk was real. hypnotic. fun. gothic sounding not for "Emo" cry me a river. just a good vibe to chill and drink beers and chat.
everything today is highly over analyzed.
