   I think the mayor was saying well we have a limited budget. We can't afford to pay them more. Why not? Why doesn't that crew of police officers deserved to get paid more? Surely theyr worth more than 22 an hour. Serving and protecting deserves more than 22 an hour right? I certainly think so.

   IIRC they actually tried to defund the police, froze hiring and benefits etc. then had to reinstate them because everyone started quitting

    I'm from Minnesota and the fact that two cops quit a police force that has little to no crime is funny. They are pissed because they aren't getting overtime because there's barely any crime. The sheriff's office already said they have plenty of officers. My cousin made less than 20 and another in the worst part of Minneapolis but he made 120k with overtime.
