No law says your only allowed one type of firearm. I have different rifles, shotguns and handguns, all depends what your doing that day and where you going.

0 as it's retarded, however clubbing and bayonetting was recommended for Russian infantry who were given the Mosen Negant if they were to interact with the enemy close range (hence the standard bayonet issued with the Mosen, you dumb fuck)

What's your opinion on the best pistol for close combat shooting against an attacker and what is your best opinion on the rifle for men?

Please exclude automatic rifles or things unable to bought by the average american without additional licensing.

there is no safety on a glock? I dont know shit about guns. but that doesn't sound smart. I mean to fire it you do have to pull the slide back first but in a situation it would be better to be hot round in chamber and just flick the safety feature after pulling it from your holster over having to pull that back while the other guy is mag dumping on you

The best pistol for close combat is what you can shoot most accurately with, that makes the attacker leak enough angry juice to stop being angry. Also depends on whether this is something you need to carry regularly or a car gun, etc. Most pistols are actually genuinely underpowered for making a determined attacker stop quickly. Any reputable brand of semiauto north of 9mm and in a > 4” barrel works.

Shotgun is ideal.Rifle is better than pistol and are all going to be roughly as effective with similar loads. A lever action .44 mag with soft tips would be very effective and not particularly scary looking. In FL you can probably get a surplus SKS for not too pricey.

The .44 was originally intended to be fired from rifles too. i loved my marlin, and handloading 44 is pretty easy to do. A heavy grain bullet from a carbine barrel is no slouch.

    Lol and bullshit

In 1957, Smith & Wesson released "Model 29," the world's first firearm chambered in .44 magnum.

I had a cz a long time ago and it seemed like the most solid semi-auto pistol I had. I couldn't remember if it was one of the ones that would want to snag on your shirt though. Glocks won't because there's nothing back there and they're all rounded off.

But ijs they're not my first choice for a semi-automatic handgun that's meant to be carried on your body. And in the long run I don't think they're as tough as they're made out to be. All these metal internal parts rust and stick just like anything else, the plastic frame isn't going to hold up like steel and I think the new generations are just to prey on American consumers who want to spend money on the tacticalist shit out.

The safety is supposed to be the thing on the trigger and the design of the firing mechanism. The thing on the trigger keeps it from just snagging on something from the side. It's just a flimsy little piece of plastic you could probably break if you tried hard enough but it's good enough. But there's also no hammer that's constantly under spring tension. Pulling the trigger pulls the pin back with the spring around it and releases it.
