It's really a fascinating theory. When you realize how many "weaponized autism" level posters on /pol/ fit all these qualities, commonly denigrated as neckbeards, basement dwellers, wizards etc., it makes sense that if so much is being sublimated, such enormous amounts of human potential from time, cognitive energy, strongly distracting factors, you're able to find people that achieve things such as finding Shia Labeouf's hidden flag within 34 hours.
The very definition of sublimation is the redirection of socially unacceptable impulses into socially acceptable action. This is like the exact opposite of autism. -
