The more I think about this, the more it seems like a psyop, at least until we start seeing believable combat footage.
At the moment, the AFU has all but admitted their 'counteroffensive' has failed - they've dramatically slowed down the tempo of attacks and lost so many men that tank/artillery crews are sabotaging their armor so they won't be sent to the front. Their spokesman has said that people shouldn't expect too much of the counteroffensive and should look to future offensives, specifically hoping they'll get M1 Abrams soon.
Unless Russia begins its own offensives this effectively freezes the conflict - they're not interested in capturing territories beyond perhaps Odessa, but will constantly have to defend the East and Crimea so long as the conflict is not decisively finished.
If they can convince the world that there is a civil war going on they can bait the AFU into throwing the remainder of their force at them in order to take advantage of the situation, ideally destroying it completely and completing their goal of 'demilitarisation'. -

most of the buildings they've claimed were taken after dawn, and there are several videos of the previous night as well, specifically a few of rockets being fired at a helicopter that's never actually in the frame
there's a daytime one as well but the cameraman keeps spinning the camera like a spastic so you don't actually see the helicopter get hit -

I believe that the four or five men (or 10 you never really know) control their own groups and he kinda shepherds them all in one direction that pays him a lot to do that.
