When will they release Pentium 6?

What do you plan to use this computing device for?

Ok so apparently what I am looking for is a "dual chamber" case, where the PSU and wiring is in the back and the Mobo + fans are in the front chamber, so you can get a more "cubelike" form factor, which is exactly what I'm looking for.

Wish I could just bend together like 6 pieces of aluminium and make a custom case

    It should be like

    [ Fan ] [ Mobo ] [ Fan ]
    [PSU] [SATA drive stack]

I am just gonna turn my current mATX mobo into the core for a cube shaped home server to put my Plex and shit on.

Did you try checking at circus City

Threadripper is what you use in a datacentre and put like 30 VMs on. We use Xeons where I work. Those processors all have a lot of cores, but that's about their only benefit. Almost no one has exclusive use of one either.

cache is a big part of it

I was looking at parts for a custom watercooled threadripper and it came to like 15k

the only real downside is that it comes with a PSU and it's really tricky to fit a third party one in if that's what you want

im surprised you dont make your own casing.

making a case isnt hard, all you need are some aluminum for frame and real glass if you want to be a real man, and some hinges and rivet/stainless steel bolts and nuts.

you can just lay it all out on a table if you really don't want to buy a case

my cats would fuck it up though, one of them sleeps on top of the case because it gets warm

then screw them under the table.

I kinda want to just turn my current computer into like an overpowered home server.

I really don't play games any more and I've been transitioning all my actual day to day shit to my Mac devices for some time now.

I have an M2 macbook air and a Mac studio for all the programming and art stuff I do.

I would put in like a 13900k and leave a 2080 Super in the old desktop, leave all the current SATA SSDs in it, leave the 2TB NVME in, just put it on a shelf and leave it and figure out cool uses for it as a server.

Maybe it could just run like a Minecraft realm or some simulated fish tank or something on it.

    I don't run servers anymore

anything serious can be done on a lunix laptop; mostly just treat the desktop like a gaming console
