Um yeah...multiple times...there are "day labor" places all around houston where the illegal messigans hang out, you drive up say "I need two guys for 4hrs paying $10hr to move some crap"...they come running.
Literally you can hire them in less than 1 min...get a uhaul and 2 messyboys and you save your self hundreds on a moving company.
