Lets face it.. China has 6000 years of prosperity and has a non Strike First policy unless provoked greatly and doesn't usually strike outside it's borders
The Great ShangDu, Land of Emporer Kupla Khan, is a magical place which holds possibly trillions in hidden gold and jediels collected over centuries ad hidden beneath the great city of Shanghai. It is said no one has found this well hidden stache of possibly hundreds of trilllions in gold and diamonds, emeralds and other gems.
Once found, this will place China well above America's wealth. China will just loan trillions to America who wont be able to pay it back with interest and China will foreclose on much of America's finest real estates and possibly even National Parks or the state of Hawaii nearly as a whole and California.
It was all predicted in the 11th century
and Geddy Lee predicted it

They have the capability to dominate economically; Russia, China and Iran are doing business (specifically oil and gas) in their own currencies and completely cutting out the dollar and inviting others to do the same, OBOR is going full steam ahead, they're absolutely not going to relinquish the EEZ around the islands in the South China Sea, they're almost able to completely drop SWIFT, BRICS hasn't been crushed... -

youre failing to take into account what creates value in this mythical treasure trove: the fact that scarcity increases value and if such a large quantity of those aforementioned items were suddenly available, even if hoarded and trickled into the market the way diamonds are, the overall value of the precious metals/gemstones would collapse.
that...and the whole thing is a myth in the first place.

They are playing the long game... laying in wait for the Dragon to let its guard down and then they will strike and absorb the state.
