No, in the 70s, it was hard times in both the states and more in the UK. the whole Labor Party issue over there. Punk music came from poor white trash of England.. Both the ghettos of London and Manchester regions hit the hardest. Some kids saw the Ramones and the next thing you know, Sex Pistols, Buzzcocks, Joy Division and so on formed from this shit. Not all of it was bad. Sex Pistols over rated but John Lydon formed PIL later on.. greatest fucking band ever. lots of unknowns too. and later on Echo and the Bunnymen, how is that shit music? -
2017-05-19 at 2:39 PM UTCAnd dont forget the son of a Labor head, Mark E. Smith formed "The Fall'
He worked as a socialist labor leader until he formed his band -

2017-05-19 at 2:46 PM UTCOh yeah and brit cuisine is bland af fam. Last summer I worked for a brit chef at a brit restaurant downtown. We had a tasting before opening day and the food looked nice, but it was weak sauce.
A girl brought in some tortillas and stuff to load them up with one day for all of us and the brit chef just put melted butter on a tortilla because "mexican food is too spicy" You can still put stuff in a taco without having to put peppers in it.. god he was boring -

I saw PIL a few years ago and it was awesome, and It was also kind of funny how even john lyndon in his older age is still has his arrogant pretentious stage presence.
Oh yeah the cure and tears for fears are good brit bands as well -

Agreed.
But I'm a relic it seems. 70s was better than 80s but I was an 80s teen and all of my sliblings much older than I were 70s.. so I listened to everything from the 50s on up.. my Mother had decent taste in older music as well.
Music is getting a little bit better. I like those Coathanger girls. good sound -
