If they can't they default and suffer the consequences...again it's not an employers responsibility in ANY WAY to manage their employees lives for them!...and you just supported that fact by pointing out that many companies can't manage their own finances either!...if the company can't manage itself why would you want/expect them to manage yours???

I agree few people can manage assets well...that's still their fault...not someone elses. Plenty of people have rose from absolute poverty to vast wealth on their own volition. -
2023-05-15 at 1:50 PM UTCyea but all those people usually either got lucky or had help. no one does it alone bud.

I'm answering the basic question..
...contractors ask for a deposit to buy materials, you can say "no, give me a list of materials and I'll buy them", or check their customer feedback. A contractor is not an "unknown" unless they are a completely knew company and if that's the case you'd be stupid to give them a deposit/advance rather than go to a known and rated contractor.
But either way should the contractor default you can take them to court.
An employer doesn't want to be in the position of possibly having to take to court EVERY new employee they give an advance to when they can just as easily hire someone who doesn't need a pay advance.
Again, think man.
Why would I employ someone who asks for money first when there are 50 other people applying for a job who doesn't require an advanced payment?
Why would I hire someone who can't manage their own life when there are 50 others who can?
Why would I "trust" and unknown individual with my money? -
2023-05-15 at 2:08 PM UTC„ when there are 50 other people applying for a job who doesn't require an advanced payment?”
yea but all those people ar eliving off their parents or wives or borrowing feom friends. all im saying is there are some other lonely people out there who dont have their options or white privilege. -
2023-05-15 at 2:09 PM UTCAlso companies that offer advances or sign on bonuses generally only do that for high level or skilled positions, and even then you sign a contract saying you have to pay that advance back if you don't meet the requirements of employment.
Your average worker does not get a sign on or advanced payment upon new employment.
and AGAIN...learn to adult, your finances are YOUR responsibility. If you can't work at a new job for a month without a paycheck then the problem is YOU, not them. -
2023-05-15 at 2:10 PM UTChow the hell are people supposed to manage their money these days when everyone in the usa lives on credit for instance and buys mortgages at defsult lones hence for the bubble thwt burst?

Even if that was true that's their problem, not a potential employers....I don't care how you finance yourself as long as you are here everyday ready to work, do the job and then get paid on the day YOU AGREED TO WHEN YOU APPLIED.
Wow, what a fucked up generation you millenials are when you expect others to finance your life -

Yep...what's your point?
Guess what happens if they default on their contract?

2023-05-15 at 2:16 PM UTCan employer could easily do thwt for other positipns or have some heart for people without a huge support network or in fields or industries where it takes a while to find a new job.
