2023-05-14 at 4:18 PM UTCYes, I was 17. I don't regret it and had some fun but a person would be ahead spending that time in school or learning a trade.

2023-05-14 at 4:25 PM UTCI don't really consider it lost, I had fun, saw places and learned a lot of stuff. Plus not many jobs around here at the time.

2023-05-14 at 4:44 PM UTClol, AFU gets UK Storm Shadow missiles with a range of up to 300km or so and what do they use them for? shelling towns in Lughansk

2023-05-14 at 5:07 PM UTCI read they targeted a food processing factory and a factory producing polymers. Civilians will get killed any time you fire a missile unless you’re targeting a military base, which Russia doesn’t have since they are an occupying force. What else should they have shot at, Moscow?

sure, why not -
2023-05-14 at 5:44 PM UTCit makes sense that this was essentially a test run, seeing rumours that they're getting 200-400 missiles total but those numbers honestly doesn't sound realistic to me.

In fairness the Russians apparently have an air to air missile with a 400 km range. If you were a Ukrainian Tom Cruise Top Gun, you'd be making excuses to fire your missiles from well behind the infantry front lines too.

2023-05-15 at 2:31 AM UTCnow-deleted WaPo interview with Zelensky where he has some of the same questions I did about those leaked documents
https://www.rt.com/russia/576285-wapo-zelensky-deleted-interview/WaPo: I would say that these documents were leaked, not by us, and they were on the internet in a chatroom for weeks.
Zelensky: They were not on the internet, they were a part of something. We, the normal society, couldn’t access all of this. We couldn’t. And then, I think, information began to come out that we would partially publish everything else. I think it’s yours – or your editorial board, or whoever. I don’t want to offend anyone, I don’t know.
very few of the raw documents were ever available; of supposed trove of 100+ we only ever saw 10-20. none of the major Russian hacker groups had them, the bulk of the documents in the public domain now came from WaPo/NYT and pals. they were the only ones who appeared to have the entire 'leaks' -

yeah, I'd be more worried about SAMs near the Russian border - the SS missiles' range depends on the altitude of the jet firing it, and flying high in range of the S-400s is risky business.
it's also interesting that Russia captured at least one of them when FUKUS was slinging missiles at Syria; they've had 5 years or so to reverse-engineer it and work on countermeasures. I guess we'll see if Russia's developed any specific tools against them -
2023-05-15 at 6:56 AM UTCRussia popped an ammo depot in Khmelnytsky where the AFU was keeping the DU tank penetrators the UK gave them for the Leopards. the dust is setting off radiation alarms across the country

whoever that decided to send DU rounds to the breadbasket of europe is a genius.
this will guarantee ukrainians future dependency on food aids from the US. -

IIRC they sent DU penetrators because they were the only things the UK had in volume for smoothbore barrels, their own modern tanks are rifled -

and they can choose to send what limited amount of HE shells they have and call it a day.
its not like theyre going to be punished for not fullfilling their donation quota or something.
anyway i dont believe they have more DU rounds than conventional rounds. -
