I bet Banjo Nuts and Bolts is better than any diablo game for the rest of our lives. It's not like game of the year good especially for it's time but for what it was, it was good.
It was the peak of Rare with experience of making games on the hardware and since Banjo it was just Kinect bullshit for years, Sea of Thieves has been their only good game since.
Which is a pretty popular game right now because of how unique it is. I'm a fan of that style, not sure what to call it, I don't play sea of thieves but I think it's neat.
Kameo is also very under rated, It's once again nothing to write home about but for what it is, it's a solid adventure action whatever, better than most i've played.
Anyone that says it's bad would also probably say playing crash bandicoot is bad, just not a fun game.
If you suck at platforming puzzles maybe idk , not for everyone I guess but that doesn't make it bad

I don't want to know what backwater hee haw towns are in this gulch, I don't want to know that I need to ride up the dusty trail to reach Dodge.
Maybe I want to start in dodge instead of complete the same story missions cutscenes 200 times
and when there is a shortest point between two wild cowboy towns, you take the shortest distance between them, on horseback and it takes 5 minutes. In the cutscenes it takes them a month.
But you can't even invent a reason to stop in between the Towns and do the classic trope cowboy fire under the moonlight with your horse and tent
Red Dead forces you to do it with hunger and sleep mechanics also known as a triple timer fun-lock in place of actual real content to keep you busy they just make you spend more time to do it
what if instead you stopped because you heard coyotes or something and the game doesn't generate an encounter unless you travel at night. Or sleeping could give a xp bonus instead of being required to not FUCKING DIE

I think I made a list of every western game, I played most. You start out with four people, 80 food, 60 fuel, and one each of engine parts, hull panels and electronics. Your goal is to make it to Orion. Your goal in reality is to crunch a bunch of numbers and hope the RNG favors you.
The more people you have and the more time you spend, the more food you use up. Every person consumes 2 food per day, and a normal leg of your journey takes 1 day.
The more detours you take, the more fuel you use up. A normal leg of your journey takes 5 fuel.
Raiders will sometimes steal a random amount of food and fuel, and collisions may vent it out into space. Certain events will use up engine parts or kill crew members, or offer you a risky option or a safe option that uses more food/fuel.
You will probably not make it to Orion if all of you live! There is not enough food unless you get really lucky with the black hole. Hope for death.
I've seen even more simple cooked down versions than this jammed into some small games as a meme. I want to play oregon trail on a coffee machine.

Someone made a fallout new vegas mod for minecraft lol. I might try to build a modpack off this similar to incendium but with custom mechanics, not gay shit ripped from spigotMC plugin store.
I give up on designing a cowboy game, fuck cowboys. If anything it will be a Brokeback Mountain simulator in Ren'py because cowboys are gay faggits
