In the midnight hour, when all is still,
And the world is lost in slumber's chill,
I lie awake, my eyes wide and bright,
My body weary, my mind taking flight.
No drug or liquor can bring me rest,
No sleep comes to calm my troubled breast,

Ads blare out in a deafening tone,
And I find peace in this chaos alone.

For sleep eludes me, though I try,
