yeah just gotta regulate input to 3.7v/1A AT MOST and cut it off when the battery can output 4.2v (check cell output every 30 seconds or so). you can curve the amperage, ie. drop it dfown to 200mA or something when the cell output gets close to 4.2 but I've just been pulling cells out of disposable vapes so I don't really care about memory effect
lithium cells don't output a constant voltage; when almost dead they output 2.4v, if you deplete them any further an unprotected cell will die permanently. nominal output is 3.7v and when fully charged they output 4.2v, keep pumping power in after that and you risk fucking it up and/or starting a fire
I found an old USB power bank though so I'll probably just pull the charging circuit out of that -
