    Make them earn everything they want. Only give them what they need to survive. Food, clothing, shelter, and love. Anything else make them work for it and earn it. Also have family dinner every night. No phones, no TV, just food and conversation. Encourage them to read and limit their internets.

    Sounds solid. Considering he's only 7, I just figured no TV and internets until he needs to start using it for school/research. He can find other, more engaging stuff to do.

    Reward and punishment as his actions dictate. The key to that is consistent application and keep it impersonal. When they get in the real world their poor choices are going to cause them pain. Better to learn that from you than from a world that doesn't give a shit about them.
