Do associate professors usually write OP-ED's and try to pass them off as a legitimate argument against the imprisonment of women? Because as far as i am concerned an associate professor shouldn't write troll articles for The Washington post. Doesn't strike me as particularly professional behavior. Unless of course she actually does hold these views. -

Your opinion of what is appropriate professional conduct for academicians doesn't seem to have a lot to do with what we're talking about though. I mean you may think it's unprofessional or "not good" but it doesn't really do anything to preclude it from being the reality of the situation. -

yeah dude, i couldnt believe her bullshit, she was even saying stuff like "i think you're cute, but you don't understand satire, man" and when i explained how what i was saying was satire she would just say "i already told you how its not satire!, what do you not get it?!"
and then its just that I was alluding to women blah blah balh... and she was just like "well okay ur a mysoginist.." and I understand it goes both ways, but her way of "shutting me down" was pretty weak.
And she even brought up out of nowhere my mixed race and I never brought it up, and she told me that that doesn't entitle me to anything.. even though she kept harping on about minorities... but me being a minorites doesn't relate to women being minorities because its a different minorite...
it just got exhausting and I quit.

lel, I've never had to interact with these people myself, for a while I thought it was just an exaggeration of dumbasses on the internet. then my friend who works for a CRM company actually had to deal with a complaint from someone who said they were 'offended' that the 'commit' button (their software has a code management thing like git) looked like a wedding ring... they wouldn't let it go and it actually got handed off to the legal department, no idea what happened after that.
