Watercooling Setup Plans

finally got around to sleeving everything, the 24pin took literally all night. need to get some clips to straighten the cables out; I tried bobby pins but they're not long enough. I might be able to bend some metal or cut holes in some aluminium, might even be able to use the cable management clips they sell at officeworks...

unplugged the LED strips because it was difficult to 'hide' them behind the motherboard and having them exposed looks tacky.

getting paid monthly sucks balls, will hopefully be able to get the rest of the parts for watercooling in the next week or so.

ordering parts now. thinking blue liquid, either neon or solid pastel. I had considered white but all the builds that use white liquid look way too... sperm-banky.

SO, I changed up my layout.

    [GPU WATERBLOCK] |

    [SLIM RADIATOR] |

    [CPU WATERBLOCK] ---

and ordered most of the parts - I just need to get the CPU waterblock and radiators now:

dunno lol, primary reason for this is not practical. I'll test it tonight before I start working on the loop (assuming my parts arrive before the weekend).

So far the following has arrived:

    GPU Waterblock
    Pump/Reservoir
    4m Clear Tubing
    12x Compression Connectors
    Coolant Fluid

Hopefully these will arrive this afternoon:

    CPU Waterblock
    2x Radiators

Parts didn't arrive before the weekend. They came today though; I took everything apart last night and will start putting it back together in a few hours. I attached the GPU waterblock:

Will post more pics/something like a build log when I start.

couple of things didn't work out how I wanted them to, I plan on getting a different case and chopping it up at some point. It works and keeps CPU/GPU temps at around 35 but it's a bit of a hack job.

considered it but that's messy as fuck

also lol, didn't realise until I looked at that photo again - one of my RAMsticks isn't plugged in properly

You could also immerse it under cooking oil and deep fry whatever you feel like eating

Ordered another case, this one I'm going to chop up and customise before I migrate my hardware into it.

I'm going with blue sleeved cables and blue liquid cooling, white lighting. Ideas for a case colour scheme welcome - I'm thinking of doing either white or raw metal internally.

I like the look of hard tubing but it seems difficult to work with and very easy to mess up measurements/tolerance... plus all those fixtures would cost a fortune; my setup only makes use of 10-12 straight compression fittings and the cheapest I could get them for was $60 (if I didn't get the clearance sale ones it'd be twice-thrice that)

OP, your new PC already looks bad ass. I can't wait for my next build.

Do you think all of that is necessary though?

    LOL no

--snip for massive photo see next page--

I've got some more parts coming but after how long it took me to get it running nicely, I will not be taking it apart again for a while. The only thing I plan on adding for the moment is an LED light colour controller; all of the LEDs in the case are RGB but my controller is a piece of shit so they're all permanently switched to green.

The green is growing on me though.
