well that's your opinion I guess, some would say the oppsite that regulations and the SEC ignoring Bitcoin mutual funds lead to this kind of 1920's pump and dump scam market, they were unwilling to even consider it at all -

unironically might be the case - something like 500 israeli startups had their contracts transferred from israeli banks to SVB as a protest against some government policy a few weeks before it tanked -

Then Peter Thiel comes along and organised a run on the bank using his "Founders" fund cartel. Many companies in the fund had money with SIVB, and they withdrew their money all together, on the same day.
The result was a $42 billion bank run. No bank could withstand that, since no bank would have that much cash on hand.
And no one even seems to notice what he did. -

As hilarious and well deserved it'd be if they lost money, I expect the yanks will do with this SIVB what they did with Anglo Irish Bank in Dublin, and set up a special purpose vehicle to wind it up. Just like with Anglo Irish I expect depositors and bondholders will be made whole, at the taxpayer's expense.
Although apparently retarded yanks are worried about the $200 they have in Wells Fargo now, and some people are expecting carnage at open on monday. -
