That sucks. It can not be re-created. The moment was perfect. It hurts me.
I wanted to frame and sell it. It would have been our breakthrough but I didn't do it. Multiple chances. Anger. This makes me think about the rest of my life and the opportunities I missed.
That's pretty close to the emotions the actual picture provoked in me. *sigh* -
2017-05-18 at 1:01 AM UTCthis is dumb. these same type of test can tell you that you have a 180 IQ
lies. -

2017-05-18 at 1:32 AM UTCI was diagnosed with Aspergers as a kid, and I exhibit all of the traits (know every factoid about radiohead, shitty empathy, etc), but I've learned to manually read people over the years (to fucking machiavellian levels, I've been emotionally manipulative before and I can't go to regular therapy because I can't stop psychoanalyzing my therapists). I took an IQ test(official one, not just being a neckbeard) and I scored 156, and that was back in 9th grade. I scored 13 on OP's quiz. Is it possible that my retard analytical capabilities are helping me overcome my retard social impairments?

Originally posted by Malice The autism spectrum, and Asperger's, is an extremely complex neurological disorder (or "difference") that's wildly misunderstood. Few people really understand what it's like, and common pop portrayals, like Rain Man, are completely inaccurate. Of course not everyone on the spectrum is the same or will exhibit the same symptoms, just like neurotypicals, it can vary wildly. We all have different brains affected by our genetics, just like any other part of our body or trait, for example, height.
This can be very difficult to get an accurate score because so many people don't have the level of self-awareness, have done enough introspection and reflection on themselves, their life, current state, and past, traits and habits they have.
So you have to think very carefully about some of these and avoid the mistake that most people will make of self-deception, choosing answers that make you seem worse than you really are, if you perceive some of these preferences/behaviors/traits as negative things.
It's a private test, so if you really want to know the truth, be as perfectly honest as possible. Detach yourself from emotions and biases and just be as objective as you can. If you just lie or give inaccurate responses, the underlying truth won't change.
So, after that, here's a link to the test: https://psychology-tools.com/autism-spectrum-quotient/
I scored 40/50, which is pretty damn autistic, and it's very possible that a more accurate assessment could be even higher than that.

2017-05-18 at 2:24 AM UTCWaiting with immense anticipation for Lanny to post his results.
Oh, one more thing I want to tell you, Lanny. I don't buy your excuses, there could be an element of fear or preferring not to know because of everything I've posted, life outcomes, how detrimental the impact on your quality of life can be. The thing is, it varies wildly. It doesn't effect your intelligence, you're clearly doing very well in life, at least in terms of educational attainment and income/career, so it's not like you're suddenly going to become full hiki out of nowhere. There were a lifetime of serious issues that led to me becoming this bad, and there could be things unrelated to Asperger's.
There are literally people with PhDs, absolutely brilliant and accomplished people (seem to be overrepresented among certain silicon valley and futurist types, even some economists), even possibly some nobel prize winners, who have Asperger's (and if you do you likely only have a mild or "moderated" form where it can genuinely be a net benefit, produce some very beneficial traits).
So it's not like you're receiving a cancer sentence and are eventually going to become me, which i completely understand is a terrifying thought.
How will it help you? If you're genuinely intelligent you should be able to come up with multiple responses for this. It could explain your affinity toward alcohol and benzos, multiple other things. As I said before, it's important for self-quantification, understanding yourself, life/past, and how you interact with the world. All it could take is one good paper I'd recommend, which isn't that long and that you should be able to grasp without a background in neuro-pharmacology/neuroscience, and it would explain a lot. -

Definitely, especially with a high IQ, enough knowledge, and practice, structuring your mind, you can definitely hypercompensate just through raw cognitive prowess. It's what I do, although...I did end up becoming a hiki and multiple other things happened to fuck me up profoundly.
It's hyper-systemizing and truth seeking behavior. The cognitive style is just radically different than most people. It's like the Vulcans from Star Trek. You understand the world on a cognitive level as opposed to an intuitively, empathetically/emotionally/instinctively.
Completely relate to what you said, even not being able to handle therapy because of the hyper-awareness and being unable to stop analysing everything they do, seeing right through them, even being aware of how they perceive you, what they're thinking, how they respond, what misunderstandings they have, what they won't understand, every flaw they have etc. Just always being multiple steps ahead, already knowing how they're going to respond/things will end, to the point where it feels there is no point. And of course all the flaws you build up, the profile in their mind, can just drive you insane, make you feel incredibly frustrated, and not want to be around them. Problem is, this exact behavior makes you absolutely miserable.
Honestly, a good dose of benzos would probably be best to just get your mind to shut the hell up and simply be in the moment. It's why people drink (Lanny).

I'm not a sperg, but this is my default mode of thought when interacting with people. -
