You seem to forget I work for an OEM...parts shortages are a thing, I have a relay on order for example that has a lead time of 65 weeks....52 weeks+ is not uncommon for many things.
The demand for chips in particularly went through the roof during the pandemic. Production was heavily reduced or in many instances CEASED...and demand went up because fat Americans were at home ordering shit on Amazon etc.
