   I use to do maintenance on RR track crews trucks and learned a lot talking to the guys and know a couple of retired engineers. Keeping the track working is a constant job, a sudden freeze can crack the track or if a train spins its wheels for just a few seconds it can eat up the track. I was told by one guy just the other day that one time the temp sensor said everything was fine until one of them looked back and saw smoke and stopped the train.
   
   Humans and things humans make are going to fuck up and if you want all the modern goodies shit like this will happen.
