Bump. They are barely talking about this on Ohio news and word now is that the Ohio river is contaminated with vinyl chloride which will affect something like 5 million people. It looked like fucking doomsday when they burned the shit off into that towering black cloud

    Fuck this shitty state

Oh and on the topic of 'reporters being arrested', I'm only aware of one guy who was arrested and later released because he was livestreaming a press conference and yelling over the panel

I've lived here for a while (my whole life) and I've always thought our rail infra was just fine. Could it be an accident?

I dunno, just in general I keep hearing about problems with both service levels and rail system maintenance,ie. https://www.stb.gov/news-communications/latest-news/pr-22-56/

there have been four major derailments in the last few weeks that I've heard of, I think Ohio and Houston are the only ones that were carrying hazardous materials though.

Also I don't think the cause of the Ohio derailment has been released publicly; everyone's fixated on the toxic aftermath. Wheels on the container cars were seen sparking and burning like 20km before the derailment and the engine car somehow managed to detach and get away before the crash
